Why we didn’t meet Amber Alchalabi’s parents during the Bachelor’s hometown visit

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like Amber Alchalabi’s parents weren’t so happy with their daughter’s choice to find true love on reality television, and that is why we didn’t meet her parents during the traditional hometown visit. Instead, Baldwin only met her roommate.

Talk about an uncomfortable situation. If I was Andy, I’d sure be wondering why my date’s parents refused to meet me, and I’m betting that is the true reason why Amber didn’t get the hometown visit rose. Who wants to be stuck with in-laws that hate you!

Principal at Amber Alchalabi’s school forced to resign after allowing Amber to appear on the show

Monday, May 14th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Considering we have seen teachers appear on the Bachelor numerous times over the years, apparently the parents at the school where Amber Alchalabi teachers are a bit more conservative when it comes to romancing on reality TV.

Colony Bend Elementary School principal Tammie Carpenter was reassigned and demoted from her position for allowing the recently rejected Alchalabi — a fourth-grade teacher at the school — a 22-school day absence to compete on The Bachelor’s tenth installment. While she resigned rather than face the punishment from the Fort Bend Independent School District, Carpenter apparently had a change of heart.

“The district accepted her resignation upon receipt,” district spokeswoman Mary Ann Simpson told the website FortBendNow, which reports on Fort Bend County, TX, on Wednesday. “Now she has sent the district information that she does not want to resign.”

Given the support Carpenter had reportedly received support from parents of Colony Bend Elementary School students, Timothy Jenney, the district’s superintendent, was mulling over the idea of rescinding the resignation,

“[Jenney] is meeting with some of the Colony Bend Elementary parents [on Wednesday night] at their request,” Simpson told FortBendNow. “There will be no decisions or action taken [at the meeting].”

However following that meeting, Carpenter apparently reversed course once again, as she has rescinded her own request for reinstatement, Houston’s KTRK-TV ABC television affiliate reported Friday.

“[Carpenter’s] attorney tells us [Jenney] made some untruthful statements during a meeting with parents Wednesday night and she will not work for someone like that,” KTRK-TV reported.

Um, yeah. Talk about making a confusing situation even more confusing! But looks like Amber won’t be back teaching fourth graders again next year at Colony Bend Elementary.

Spoilers from first episode of Bachelor: An Officer & a Gentleman

Sunday, April 1st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

The ABC press release dishes on some of the upcoming premiere episode of the Bachelor: An Officer & a Gentleman edition of the Bachelor. And yep, two girls are going to have waaaay too much to drink, much to our amusement! And as a bonus, one chick flips out when she doesn’t get a rose… let me guess, she is sure they have a connection and he’s made the biggest mistake of his life!

U.S. Navy Lieutenant Andy Baldwin, M.D., 30, a handsome undersea medical officer for a special operations dive unit stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii - a real-life “officer and a gentleman” - is about to face the most exciting mission of his life: finding true love.

Andy, an accomplished triathlete and winner of recent humanitarian awards for his work in Laos last summer — on a military mission where he treated over 600 Laotians in remote mountain villages — begins his marathon run to find the woman of his dreams. In the premiere episode, “1001,” the bachelorettes arrive to party and meet Andy, and are quick to find out that the competition starts immediately - right as they get out of their cars. This time it really is a “first impression” rose that Andy must deliver to one lucky lady as she arrives, and it’s enough to send daggers flying between the 25 new bachelorettes.

Coincidentally, this first night also happens to be Andy’s 30th birthday, and the news spreads like wildfire around the room. The bachelorettes pull out all the stops to impress Andy: Linda, a female body-builder, challenges him to a push-up contest, Stephanie W, an acrobatic bachelorette, is so taken by the Bachelor that she literally does back flips for him in her evening dress in a must-see demonstration, and Tina treats Lieutenant Baldwin to a patriotic serenade of “The Star Spangled Banner.”

Andy will be cutting ten women in the first episode of the show. And we already have the cast list of the original 25 here.

Bachelor Andy Baldwin stuffs his swimsuit during Bachelorette triathlon challenge

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

A decidely bizarre news story about the latest Bachelor… and how he is enhancing his physical ::ahem:: attributes. While filming segments at the pool at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel which saw the Bachelorettes competing in a triathalon (no doubt competing for one of those coveted one-on-one dates) some gossip hunting spies saw Bachelor Andy Baldwin pull a sock from his swimsuit!

Says our man in Santa Monica: “The Bachelor was standing there filming a segment where he was swimming. When he was all done, and the cameras were off, he pulled a sock out of his swimsuit.”

An old Navy trick for ballast, no doubt.

I am betting the excuse was that the water is cold!

The Bachelor: The Officer and a Gentleman premieres April 2nd as 90 minute show

Sunday, February 25th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

For all you Bachelor fans, ABC is planning on debuting the tenth season of the Bachelor on Monday, April 2nd at 9:30 in the juicy timeslot following Dancing with the Stars. And what is more unusual is that apparently instead of going in the traditional hour-long episode format with a few two hour episodes thrown into the mix, that the show will instead be run as 90-minute episodes.

Lieutenant Andy Baldwin, a 30-year-old Navy doctor and Ironman competitor, is the tenth season bachelor.

It is an interesting decision for ABC to use Dancing with the Stars as the lead-in for the show, as The Bachelor has not had a strong lead-in since it ran after Lost in 2004 (and before ABC knew what a powerhouse Lost would be at the time). So the timeslot could definitely breathe some life into the long-running reality series.

The Bachelor is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Bachelor Prince Lorenzo Borghese ditches winner for the runner-up he left behind

Thursday, January 18th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

bachelor.jpg

Well, you always kind of have that romantic hope that the Bachelor and his chosen bachelorette end up making it. And to recap, Bachelor Prince Lorenzo Borghese chose Jennifer over Sadie in the series finale. However, in true reality show style, rumors started almost immediately after the final rose ceremony aired that Jennifer was already dating someone else when that show aired.

Now comes word that the Bachelor Prince may have had a change of heart over choosing Jennifer over Sadie.

“Watching Sadie drive away in the limo was by far the worst moment of this entire journey,” a tearful Borghese said during the finale.

Apparently, he never got over saying goodbye to the publicist (and proud virgin). Despite having given Wilson a promise ring on the show’s finale, a source close to Borghese tells Us, “Lorenzo and Jennifer are now on the rocks, and he’s gone back to Sadie. They’re spending time together.”

So it is serious? “Sadie is moving to New York City, where Lorenzo lives, to pursue her career.”

This would be an interesting twist, albiet less of a scandal than Bachelor Bob leaving his bachelorette for the host of the ABC Family airing of the Bachelor. We will keep you posted!

Bachelorette Jennifer was dating someone else when final rose episode aired!

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Not that it is really that much of a shocker, but Bachelorette Jennifer - whom Prince Lorenzo bestowed his final rose to on the finale of the Bachelor - was already dating someone else when that final episode aired!

The man in question, Dan Herrero, is another teacher at Glades Middle School, the Pembroke Pines, FL school where Jennifer teaches eighth grade. And he has denied that the two are a couple… which he would have to do since Jennifer’s contract with the Bachelor says she cannot date anyone else until all episodes she appears in have been aired.

From RealityTVWorld

“I can’t believe I had just watched her accept the last rose from Prince Lorenzo on television, then only days later she was making out with Dan!,” a source told the Enquirer, according to MSNBC.com’s Jeanette Walls. “When Dan asked Jennifer about what she was going to do about Lorenzo, she told him point blank that she doesn’t have any romantic feelings for him at all and has absolutely no intention of following through with their plans to start a future together.”

Apparently National Enquirer has a picture proof of the relationship.

Of course, it would be amusing if ABC went and sued one of their bachelorettes for breach of contract. Maybe then they would start taking the show seriously rather than just using it as a vehicle for celebrity or stardom.

The Bachelor choses Jennifer over virgin Sadie

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

It’s a wrap! The Bachelor Lorenzo Borghese chose Florida teacher Jennifer Wilson, 24, leaving 23-year-old L.A. publicist Sadie Murray - who will only be remembered for being a virgin and telling anyone who would listen - without a man.

To those watching the episode, it was no real surprise, the connection between the two of them was much more apparent, especially with all that “looking to the future” talks the pair had. And he gave her a ring - albiet not an engagement one, so they could see if their relationship could survive outside the craziness that makes us all love reality tv so much.

If you want to see how they are outside the show - and presumably because they are still together - Lorenzo and Jennifer will be appearing on Live with Regis and Kelly this morning to proclaim their love…. or make it painfully obvious they just aren’t that good together.

The Bachelor party will continue for a tenth season

Friday, November 17th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

ABC has picked up the Bachelor for its tenth season, due to the surprise success of the nineth edition has been having this season on Monday nights. No word yet on when it will air, but rumor has it we could see a new bachelor on the air as soon as Spring 2007.

The Pope on the Bachelor Rome? Say it ain’t so!

Monday, October 30th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Because of the Bachelor’s Rome connections, and the fact the series is being shot in Rome, executive producer Mike Fleiss actually put in a special request with the Vatican, according to the NYPost.

Say what?

This isn’t some serious show but basically a parade of pop tarts who want to be princesses. And they think this is quality enough to warrant a papal blessing? Hold your tiaras.

“We’re really trying to get the Pope to be on the show,” said Fleiss. Fleiss envisioned his newest bachelor, Prince Lorenzo Borghese, 34, being granted an audience with the Pope before handed out his final rose.

“Wouldn’t it be cool,” said Fleiss in a moment of wishful thinking, “to see the Pope praying with the bachelor and giving him guidance to make the right decision?”

I read this earlier today, and thought it had to be a joke but April Fool’s Day is still a long ways off.

Socialite Bachelorette Erica returns to make life hell for remaining women on the Bachelor

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com
bacheloretteerica.jpgYou gotta love it when ABC spices things up by bringing back a Bachelorette…. remember when two former bachelorette babes came back for Bachlor Byron? Or when they was the Bachelorette spy who reported all the cattyness and bitchiness going on in the house? Well next week, socialite Erica (yes, the one with the twin strategies) will be returning to pick and chose the ladies who get those coveted one-on-ones… and she reportedly drives some of them to tears - after all, wouldn’t you be regretting it if your bitchy behavior came back to bite you in the ass?

From the official ABC press release:

“Episode 904″ - In a major surprise to the remaining six bachelorettes, Erica shakes things up when she returns to the house to determine which ladies will get individual dates with Lorenzo. She makes them participate in a “truth exercise,” which leaves some of the women in tears. Lorenzo then flies one lucky bachelorette to the Roman baths for a day of pampering and an evening of romance, on “The Bachelor: Rome,” MONDAY, OCTOBER 23 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

Lorenzo, who is a licensed private airplane pilot, flies one of the ladies in a private plane to the Roman baths for a one-on-one date to Tivoli. Following the flight, the two get intimate in the ancient Roman baths. A group date to the historic Roman aqueducts has the remaining women competing for Lorenzo’s affections, as they race each other, riding authentic Roman chariots for a special wish from the Bachelor. Lorenzo also shares a private dinner with another bachelorette in front of the Vatican, which also happens to have the Borghese name on its fagade. Then they take a romantic carriage ride to the famous Trevi Fountain.

Meanwhile, Desiree and Lisa transform a humdrum evening at home when they get a little wild and decide to go streaking and skinny dipping on the villa property. At the rose ceremony, the moment arrives when Lorenzo must narrow the field to just four women - the four who will invite him into their families’ homes.

Personally, I’ll bet money on Erica chosing virgin Sadie for the romantic date, just to spite the other Bachelorettes.

Bachelorette passes out, er, “faints”, in front of Bachelor on tonight’s episode

Monday, October 9th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com
bachelorettekim.jpgWhen will these girls learn that alcohol + Bachelor = looking trashy on TV. Except we have the scoop that tonight Kim will indulge far too much and actually pass out (or faint, depending on how you look at it) when in front of the Bachelor.

If you are placing bets on who will be eliminated tonight, my money would be on Kim. Word of advice, if you are ever on the Bachelor, either build up your tolerance or limit the bubbly to a couple glasses. It just isn’t pretty.

Bachelorette using breasts and girl-on-girl action to woo the Prince

Monday, October 9th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com
bacheloretteerica.jpg
TMZ has an awesome clip from The Bachelor, showing ditsy blonde Erica showing off her assets… showing off as in letting them fall out of her too.

View the video, complete with pixelated goodness. And comes with bonus goodness of two girls dirty dancing in their little black dresses, following a discussion on which of them has kissed another girl before.

TMZ states that this footage might not make it to air, so if not, this was a huge video score for them.

And yes, I am sure that is alcohol in those glasses at their little breast-admiring pool party when one of the bachelorettes says “cheers to making out with girls”.

Who needs a prince when you got these Bachelorettes to fuel guy’s imaginations….

Bachelor’s Prince really isn’t that princely

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

bachelor.jpg

You gotta love a good scandal on reality television, and there really hasn’t been a good one since Bachelor Bob Guiney split with his chosen bachelorette Estella Gardinier and married Rebecca Budig, the host of the ABC Family edition of the Bachelor.  And granted, when it comes to the Bachelor, you usually expect the scandal to surround one of the money-hungry bachelorettes instead of the Bachelor himself.  But as RadarOnline discovered, turns out Bachelor Lorenzo Borghese ain’t that princely.

Of the revelations?  Turns out the Prince doesn’t even speak real Italian, the producers of the show signed him up for an intensive Italian class before filming began so he could at least say a few key Italian phrases… how much do you want to bet “Will you take this rose?” was one of those key phrases?  And judging from how much alcohol flows on the show “May I have another glass of wine” must have been another phrase high up on the must-learn list.

And some of the royal Borghese clan have never even met the Prince who claims Rome is his second home.  And being from New York?  Try being from New Jersey instead.  Doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as well now, does it?

Then there’s the question of where the 34-year-old Borghese is really from. Though ABC’s website claims he was born in Milan and raised in Connecticut, his parents, Princess Amanda Borghese and Prince Francesco Borghese, have lived in the tony New Jersey suburb of Short Hills since 1979, and his permanent addresses from before 2001 all list him as a resident of the Garden State. You can take the Prince out of Jersey, but you can’t take the Jersey out of the prince.
