The Bachelor: The Officer and a Gentleman premieres April 2nd as 90 minute show
For all you Bachelor fans, ABC is planning on debuting the tenth season of the Bachelor on Monday, April 2nd at 9:30 in the juicy timeslot following Dancing with the Stars. And what is more unusual is that apparently instead of going in the traditional hour-long episode format with a few two hour episodes thrown into the mix, that the show will instead be run as 90-minute episodes.
Lieutenant Andy Baldwin, a 30-year-old Navy doctor and Ironman competitor, is the tenth season bachelor.
It is an interesting decision for ABC to use Dancing with the Stars as the lead-in for the show, as The Bachelor has not had a strong lead-in since it ran after Lost in 2004 (and before ABC knew what a powerhouse Lost would be at the time). So the timeslot could definitely breathe some life into the long-running reality series.
The Bachelor is currently filming in Los Angeles.
