Bachelor’s Prince really isn’t that princely

You gotta love a good scandal on reality television, and there really hasn’t been a good one since Bachelor Bob Guiney split with his chosen bachelorette Estella Gardinier and married Rebecca Budig, the host of the ABC Family edition of the Bachelor.  And granted, when it comes to the Bachelor, you usually expect the scandal to surround one of the money-hungry bachelorettes instead of the Bachelor himself.  But as RadarOnline discovered, turns out Bachelor Lorenzo Borghese ain’t that princely.

Of the revelations?  Turns out the Prince doesn’t even speak real Italian, the producers of the show signed him up for an intensive Italian class before filming began so he could at least say a few key Italian phrases… how much do you want to bet “Will you take this rose?” was one of those key phrases?  And judging from how much alcohol flows on the show “May I have another glass of wine” must have been another phrase high up on the must-learn list.

And some of the royal Borghese clan have never even met the Prince who claims Rome is his second home.  And being from New York?  Try being from New Jersey instead.  Doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as well now, does it?

Then there’s the question of where the 34-year-old Borghese is really from. Though ABC’s website claims he was born in Milan and raised in Connecticut, his parents, Princess Amanda Borghese and Prince Francesco Borghese, have lived in the tony New Jersey suburb of Short Hills since 1979, and his permanent addresses from before 2001 all list him as a resident of the Garden State. You can take the Prince out of Jersey, but you can’t take the Jersey out of the prince.
